Mr. Martin Juma is a Safeguarding and Emotional Well-Being practitioner committed to strengthening safe environments for all. Martin is the Founder and Lead Consultant at Tunza Safeguarding, a Kenyan-based consultancy that nurtures organisations and communities to establish robust safeguarding structures and measures for all.
With over 13 years of practical experience in Protection and Safeguarding, Mr Juma has worked with renowned National and International Organizations such as the Moving the Goal Post, Akili Dada, Lutheran World Federation, Save the Children, UNICEF, World Vision, Oxfam, and The Girl Generation across diverse contexts and countries, including South Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Zambia, and Ethiopia. He holds a BA in social work and psychology from Daystar University and is completing his master’s degree in counselling psychology from USIU.
Sports Achievements
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Martin Juma has an impressive history of excellence in sports. He began his sporting career in primary school, excelling in basketball, swimming, and athletics. In high school, he served as the captain of the rugby team and the school’s Games Captain. His talent and dedication earned him a spot representing Kenya in Rugby at the Under 19 level.
Mr. Juma continued to demonstrate his passion for sports in his university years. He played for the prestigious Impala Rugby 1st and 2nd Teams, establishing himself as an asset. He also captained and coached his Daystar University Rugby team, showcasing his exceptional leadership abilities and fostering the growth of his teammates.
