Minister Kofi Iddie Adams

Kofi Iddie Adams, born on 2 May 1975, is a Ghanaian politician with a strong background in both education and political leadership. Adams has now been officially appointed by President John Mahama as the Minister-designate for Sports and Recreation. Hailing from Teteman in the Jasikan District of the Oti Region, Adams is a dedicated member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and currently serves as the Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency.

His political career spans several significant roles, including serving as the National Organizer for the NDC and as a former deputy General Secretary of the party. Adams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, with a focus on Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases, and has a background as a tutor at Adisadel College. His early work in education demonstrates his commitment to community development and youth empowerment, values that have influenced his political path.

He also gained significant experience in communications as the Spokesperson and Director of Public Affairs for Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, Ghana’s former President. A key figure in the NDC's 2016 election campaign, Adams was appointed as the campaign coordinator of the party's 15-member national team, working alongside prominent figures such as Joyce Bawah Mogtari and Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

Known for his strategic leadership and commitment to his constituents, Adams continues to play a vital role in Ghanaian politics, driven by his deep connection to the Oti region and his dedication to public service. He is a big boxing fan and aims to promote lesser-known sports beyond football.

A seasoned entrepreneur and dedicated sports administrator, Hussein Mohammed leads the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) with a vision to transform Kenyan football through integrity, infrastructure investment, youth empowerment, and commercial growth. Elected on December 7, 2024, his win symbolized a fresh start for Kenyan football one built on ambition, accountability, and modern governance. Under his leadership, FKF has pledged to restore pride, nurture talent, enhance club branding and marketing, improve facilities, and address long-standing issues such as match-fixing and hooliganism.

Having worked in senior commercial roles and led the youth-focused Super 8 tournament, Hussein brings business insight, grassroots experience, and a passion for football’s transformative power. Having him as a keynote speaker is a major plus for #AFBS2025 his presence brings strategic leadership in football governance, a grassroots-to-governance perspective bridging youth development and national policy, and a genuine Kenyan and continental authenticity that grounds the Summit in real African football challenges and opportunities.

With a deep passion for pushing physical and mental boundaries, he has led his team to create thrilling experiences for athletes and enthusiasts alike. Marlon Glean is a transformative leader in international football, an Attorney-at-Law called to the Bar in both the United Kingdom and Grenada, and a passionate advocate for building sustainable, inclusive sports ecosystems in emerging regions. Currently serving as President of the Grenada Football Association (GFA), he brings to the role over two decades of global expertise spanning sports governance, international law, development finance, and strategic partnerships.


Under his leadership, the GFA has launched a bold agenda to reposition Grenada as a regional hub for football excellence, focused on youth development, commercial reform, and international cooperation. He sits on the Concacaf Football Development Committee, is a Board Member of the Grenada Tourism Authority, and was recently accepted into the prestigious UEFA MIP (Executive Master for International Players) — affirming his pursuit of continuous growth.


Before his election in 2022, President Glean served as FIFA’s Regional Development Manager for the Caribbean, where he oversaw football development across 22 countries. He led the implementation of the FIFA Forward Programme, managed compliance and risk, and worked closely with Heads of Government to elevate national football infrastructures. His tenure brought new levels of accountability, innovation, and collaboration to Caribbean football governance.


A former Grenada national team player, President Glean’s journey reflects a rare blend of on-field experience and off-field excellence. His career spans pivotal legal and leadership roles at institutions including General Electric (GE), UBS Financial Services, and the Government of Grenada, where he served as Legal Counsel to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Business. He also shaped youth and diversity programs as Assistant Director in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the University at Albany – a testament to his lifelong commitment to education and empowerment through sport.

Nick Kimanthi is a sports performance analyst, entrepreneur, and PhD candidate at Middlesex University London, specializing in data-driven scouting models and player recruitment in football. He is the Founder & CEO of Nesta Performance, a leading sports science and analytics consultancy in Africa, and an AI-powered platform for player profiling and recruitment analytics.


Nick currently serves as Team Manager and Lead Performance Analyst for the Kenya National Team – Harambee Stars, integrating performance analysis and sports technology to enhance player development and match preparation. With experience working with elite European clubs including Saracens Rugby, Queens Park Rangers, and RCD Espanyol, Nick brings a unique perspective at the intersection of sports performance, data analytics, and African football development.


He is passionate about building Africa’s sports ecosystem through innovation, youth development, and data-driven decision-making in sport.

Beyond football, Hon. Hussein is deeply committed to youth empowerment, social development, and community transformation. Through Mombasa United, he champions initiatives that use sport as a tool to combat unemployment, reduce juvenile delinquency, and promote unity across Mombasa County.


A visionary leader and elected Member of the County Assembly (MCA) for Oldtown Ward, Hon. Hussein brings his legislative experience and passion for grassroots development to drive sustainable growth in local sports. He continues to advocate for better infrastructure, investment in talent development, and partnerships that strengthen the role of sports in economic and social empowerment.
