We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Ithuba Lethu Sports Hub for the upcoming Africa Football Business Summit in Mombasa this October. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our commitment to developing young talent across the African continent.
Led by the dynamic Jabu Mtwa – IOC Young Leader, long-time FFA supporter, and previous AFBS speaker – Ithuba Lethu brings proven expertise in youth development through sport. Their innovative approach to creating pathways for young people in the sports industry aligns perfectly with our vision of building a more inclusive and opportunity-rich African football ecosystem.
A First-of-Its-Kind Volunteer Programme
This partnership introduces the inaugural volunteer programme at AFBS Mombasa 2025, specifically designed to provide Kenyan youth with unprecedented access to the African sports industry. The programme goes beyond traditional volunteering – it’s a comprehensive development initiative that combines:
- Hands-on experience at one of Africa’s premier football business conferences
- Skills development in leadership, communication, and project management
- Direct exposure to leading stakeholders in African football
- Career pathway guidance and networking opportunities
Strategic Expansion into East Africa
For Ithuba Lethu, this represents their first major initiative in the East African market, marking an important milestone in their continental expansion. Kenya’s vibrant sports culture and emerging football economy make it an ideal launching pad for their youth empowerment model.
For FFA, this partnership strengthens our Pan-African presence and reinforces our commitment to creating tangible opportunities for young people across the continent. By combining our convening power through AFBS with Ithuba Lethu’s youth development expertise, we’re making a blueprint for meaningful industry engagement.
Building Bridges Across Africa’s Sports Economy
This collaboration exemplifies the kind of pan-African partnership essential for developing the continent’s sports industry. When established platforms like AFBS connect with innovative youth-focused organizations like Ithuba Lethu, we create multiplier effects that benefit the entire ecosystem.
The volunteer programme participants will not only contribute to making AFBS Mombasa 2025 a success but will also become ambassadors for the African football business community, equipped with skills, knowledge, and networks to drive the industry forward.
We look forward to working with Jabu and the entire Ithuba Lethu team to deliver an exceptional experience for our volunteers and demonstrate how strategic partnerships can create lasting impact for Africa’s youth.
